Let's be up front- Kanawha Valley Live is NOT a news site.  To be a news organization carries all kinds of implications like "accurate reporting" and "fact". We prefer to deal in less serious matters.

Kanawha Valley Live is an entertainment portal for the greater Charleston, WV area.  We pride ourselves on being able to help you find as much fun as possible in our community, whether you are coming to town, coming through town or have lived here for 20 years.  

The "metro" Charleston area- Kanawha Valley, if you will- holds over 185,000 people and stretches from the headwaters of the Kanawha River near Gauley Bridge and stretches as far West as Hurricane, depending on who you ask.  We also give our friends on the Elk River credence, as the northern part of Kanawha County has a strong population, and all the community perks that come with it- meaning there's always something to do!  We strive to cover the expanse of this territory.  If you don't see your community represented well, contact us!  

Kanawha Valley Live was founded in June of 2009 and is the flagship product of Bass Mint Studios, LLC, a production company based in Downtown Charleston WV.  Since its inception, kvlive.net has served over 75,000 readers in 12 months!   Kanawha Valley Live releases a print edition "when we feel like it", which has now officially been some time.  We hold a "staff" of six contributors and one full time editor.  We are currently hiring, if you're into that kind of thing.  

Our goal is to dispel the myth that "there's nothing to do" in the Kanawha Valley.  There's tons of stuff to do- if you know where to look.  So look here first!  We want to help you go exploring in your own back yard.
