The Elk Herd Pride Athletic Boosters and the Elk Herd Midget League Football Boosters are working together to host a Fall Festival for the Upper Kanawha Valley area start Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the grounds and parking areas around Elkview Middle School in Elkview, WV.

Celebrate the Labor Day weekend with the Museum in the Park at Chief Logan State Park at the sixth annual “Aunt Jennie’s Music Festival.” The celebration will include two outdoor concerts on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 4 - 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 5, from 1 - 6 p.m. The concerts will be held in the park’s Liz Spurlock Amphitheater, located about one-half mile from the museum.

The West Virginia Archives and History Library of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History will continue its series of after hours lectures on Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. The session, entitled “Charleston: Then & Now,” will be conducted by Dr. Billy Joe Peyton, associate professor and chair of the history department at West Virginia State University (WVSU). The program will take place in the library at the Culture Center, State Capitol Complex in Charleston. All sessions are free and the public is invited to attend. The library will close at 5 p.m. and reopen at 5:45 p.m. for lecture guests and participants only.

Dust off your leather chaps, strap on your helmet, and prepare to get hog wild in downtown Charleston. From September 1-4, Kanawha Blvd. will play host to a motorcycle block party for the first time.  Engines will be revving and roaring as the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) take over downtown for their heavily anticipated H.O.G. Rally.

One of the oldest group of artists in the state, the Allied Artists of West Virginia, is holding a members-only art exhibit in the Frankenberger Gallery inside Riggleman Hall at the University of Charleston on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
