Baseball is America's past time. Lucky for those of us in Charleston Power Park is home to the West Virginia Power baseball team. Sadly, they have been on the road for almost a week now. Even it might be "empty", Power Park still has some events going on this week you might want to check out. One of which is this Friday. There will be a night of professional boxing known as the "Power Beat Down".
It isn't often that Charleston, West Virginia gets professional boxing to come to town. The only other opportunities I can think of are the Toughman Contest and the Rough N' Rowdy. These contests aren't really professional though. Thanks to Simons Promotions we will now get a chance to witness some professional boxing right here in the Capitol city of West Virginia.
This Friday, July 30th gates open at 7pm at Power Park. Proceeds from this event go to benefit the Starlena Pratt Foundation. If you decide to buy a ticket in advance it will be $20. If you wait until the day of the fight then the cost per ticket is increased to $25. Jeff Carr, Jason Pettaway, Adam Sepulveda, Mark "The Hammer" Plants, Jason Pauley, Walt Miller and Amanda Miller are all set to perform.
