Looking for an unconventional style restaurant with a great atmosphere? Well, we have good news for you! Jump in your car or head out on your boat to a little place at 40 Dunbar Avenue! This location is home to Huck Finn's Restaurant & Bar. Their selection of seafood and burgers is immaculate. They also have live music almost every night! John Meadows writes about his experience at this fine establishment.
Last night I jumped on board of our family friend's boat at Marina 54 and headed downstream of the Kanawha River. We arrived at a quaint little place located near Wilson Island and docked our vessel right on the side of the restaurant. Talk about drive-thru service! A jazz band just started playing as we arrived at Huck Finn's. As we got on deck and I looked over the menu it was obvious to me that I was going to have a good meal!
I decided to go with the crab cake and french fries. The crab meat was some of the best I have ever had! I was left feeling almost completely full. We sat around for some time afterwards just enjoying the music. The best part of the live music at Huck Finn's is that the bands are different through out the week. Be sure to check the entertainment listings before you head out! I know on Thursdays they have an excellent group of performers in Full Flavor. If the other bands are half as good as this one we saw perform then you are in for a treat. This establishment is also pet friendly!
